8/5/07- I visited Bethania today to retake the indoor photos since the last ones were taken with my old camera. While there I found a book kept by the secretary detailing the church council meetings. It was there I found that Bethania and Westaker of Newfolden had shared a pastor for many years. After Sunday School ceased to exist and the population dwindled, the members of Bethania had to make the decision to stay open full time, open just during the summer, or close. It appears that at first they decided to just stay open during the summer, but then eventually voted to close completely in December of 1998. They were in the process of rethinking their decision when the pastor of the two congregations resigned and so in May of 1999 Bethania closed it's doors and formed the cemetery association. They sold their share of the parsonage to Westaker.
